On November 25th, Dr. Vince Aliberti came and spoke to us about living the Christ-driven life. Annie was there to take pictures, and Allie and Jerry were our volunteers.

First, he talked about what the Christ-driven life is not. He showed us a pie chart that divides a person's life into categories such as career, family, entertainment, finances, health, spirituality, etc. He pointed out that this is a very flawed and disorganized way to look at our lives, especially when it comes to our spirituality. Even though our spiritual activities take up a limited amount of time each day, our spiritual outlook - our moral character, our prayerfulness, and our decision-making - has to influence every aspect of our lives; otherwise, we might as well classify it as a hobby.

Then he spoke about the four steps of success - purpose, choices, action, and results. We have to decide or discover what our purpose is. Then, we have to make choices that conform to our purpose. Then, we have to act on our choices. In acting on our choices, we come to our result - a successful and happy life.

Our purpose as human beings is to go to Heaven. Our choices are to live according to Christ and according to the teachings of His Church. Our actions have to be aligned with our choices. Our result will then be eternal happiness.

In addition to this purpose, which applies to all human beings, each of us has also been created with a mission from God. When we discover our mission from God, this is the specific purpose of our lives. Then, we make choices and we act according to that purpose, and the result will be that we have become the best possible version of ourselves, as God created us to be.

Will we make mistakes along the way? Sure - that's life. We can't be afraid of our mistakes. We have to go ahead and try our best. God is with us. God will help us find the way, even when we make mistakes, and even when we have done things we knew we weren't supposed to do, when we repent of those things and turn back to the good choices that God wants us to make.
