Thank you!

Seven people participated. Four people made it through the night. We raised nearly $300.00 for the Rock of our Faith building campaign.

We Prayed!

We rehearsed and led the Stations of the Cross between 6 pm and 7:30 pm. We prayed Compline at 11:45 pm. We prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3 am, and we prayed the Angelus at 6 am.

We Studied!

First, we looked in Exodus chapter 3 and 4 to see how Moses was called by God to be an agent of mercy for the People of Israel. When we look at Matthew 25, we see that we, too, are called to be agents of mercy, through the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. Throughout the night from time to time, we looked at a few different Bible passages that remind us of the depths of God's mercy. In the story of the Temptations of Christ, which shows us how Jesus defeated the Devil by taking on the temptations that beset us all, we identified the three categories of temptation that beset all of us - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.

We read Matthew 4:1-11 followed by a reading from I John 2:7-18. We noticed the alignment between the three temptations of Christ and the three temptations listed in I John 2:15. We also looked at the stories of The Unjust Judge, the healing of the paralyzed man, and the story of the Prodigal Son.

We Had Fun!

We played "River I.Q.", "I Love My Neighbours", "In All Fairness", tag, dodgeball, and "Monkey in the Middle." We watched "Shaun the Sheep" and we watched "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." We did each other's hair, and we painted ourselves with body paint. We ran around in the semi-dark with glow bracelets.

We Ate!

Dinner was spaghetti and buns. Breakfast was apple turnovers. Midnight snack was home-made nachos. And there was coffee, as well as a lot of chocolate and a lot of Coke to help keep us awake.
