Respect

Respect the Speaker

We show respect when someone is speaking to us by remaining quiet, making eye contact, using visualization and inner listening to process and remember the information that is being given to you, nodding to signify that you understand, and saving your questions until the end of the talk, or until the speaker comes to a stopping place and waits for you to say something.

It is considered extremely rude to walk out in the middle of a presentation. Please remain in your seat until the speaker is finished speaking.

Respect Each Other

Make room for each other, speak kindly to each other (or don’t say anything at all), use “please” and “thank you”, and take turns nicely.

If you have a disagreement that you can’t solve by yourselves, let one of the volunteers know, and we will try to help you communicate effectively. If you feel too angry to be able to resolve your disagreement, walk away and walk it off – don’t use angry words or actions that you may later regret.
