Service at Tuesday Evening Youth Mass

Adults, teens, and Youth members are all welcome to serve at the Tuesday evening Mass, with appropriate training.

Altar Servers: Trained Altar Servers assist Father at the Altar by making sure everything is in its proper place at the appropriate time during the Mass. Training is provided for Youth Altar Servers as needed.

Readers: Proclaim the First Reading, the Psalm, and lead the Prayers of the Faithful. An ability to read fluently and to remember a few simple protocols are all that is needed to become a reader.

Musicians/Singers: Do you play an instrument? Do you enjoy singing? Join our music leaders in leading a short opening and closing hymn. A brief rehearsal takes place at about 6:15 pm downstairs. This is not intended to be a professional Choir; it is for those who enjoy singing and playing appropriate music for Mass.

Audio/Visual Support: With training from Mr. Blair and permission from Father, you can set up the microphones, operate the sound board, and run the PowerPoint slides that show the lyrics of the songs being sung.

Earn a Gold Star every time you serve at Mass!

Of course, the most important role at Mass, and one that everyone at Mass participates in, whether they have an official role or not, is the role of giving thanks to God with our whole heart and mind. In your heart, offer up your intention for the Mass during the silence after the opening prayer, and listen attentively to the readings and prayers, giving the appropriate responses at the appropriate times, and taking up the appropriate postures. When you give yourself to Jesus in the Mass, you will find that He gives Himself to you abundantly in ways you never expected.
