Exit Checklist for Youth Ministry Volunteers

Before leaving for the night, please ensure that the following tasks have been completed:

Summary:

Invite Youth members to assist you with tidying up until their parents arrive to pick them up. Put away all Youth Group materials in their proper storage areas. Put away tables and chairs. Sweep and mop as necessary. All garbage must be removed and taken to the dumpster outside. Recycling (papers, drink containers) is placed in the containers found in the hallway.

Details:

  1. All participants have been picked up by parents. Follow the 2-adult rule.

  2. Youth Altar has been broken down, and the elements have been put away in their proper places.

    - Bible is in the Youth Ministry Office, or set with other things that are also going there.

    - Statues are placed safely on their shelf.

    - Holy water, rock, blessed salt, and candles are in their box.

    - Box is placed safely next to the statues.

    - Cloth is folded and placed neatly in the correct drawer.

    - Table is folded and placed on top of the drawer sets.

  3. All items on tables have been put in their proper places:

    - Toys, cameras, game pieces, balls, unused paper, craft supplies, pens, name tags, and costumes have labeled containers in the Youth Ministry storage area.

    - Signs: The folding sign from outside folds up and slides in on top of the drawer sets, along with the table for the Youth Altar. The rest of the signs go in the binder.

    - Binders, registration forms, books, and SD cards from the cameras go to the Youth Ministry Office. Place all of these items together, near the door, and remember to take them to the Youth Office when you leave (last person out does this).

    - Pizza boxes, used paper and plastic cups, used napkins, candy wrappers, bits of paper, and craft activities left behind by the participants go in the trash.

    - Items belonging to participants that have been left behind go in the lost and found, upstairs behind the literature rack.

    - Empty drink containers go in the recycling bin in the hallway next to the double doors coming into the Parish Hall. Please rinse them out before putting them in the bin, to discourage insects.

    - Any dishes used must be washed thoroughly according to the directions on the dishwasher, and set to dry in a drying rack in the kitchen.

  4. Tables have been wiped clean with a damp cloth (or scrubbed, if necessary), and placed against the walls if the next group in will be using them, or else folded and put away under the stairs, if not.

  5. Floors have been swept and mopped.

  6. All garbage has been taken out to the dumpster.

  7. Items belonging in the Youth Ministry Office have been returned there.

  8. The room looks clean, empty and ready for the next group to set up and have their event.

  9. Last person out: Do a security check to make certain that everyone is out of the building, make sure all the lights are off, both upstairs and downstairs, and make sure all the outside doors of the Church and all interior Office doors are securely locked.

  10. You may enlist the help of Youth Members who have not yet been picked up by their parents, to complete some of these tasks, especially simple things like sweeping the floor and putting things in the garbage.
