Mentors  (at least 2 people)

 

Provide gentle reminders to our Youth Group members as they participate in the regular activities of the Tuesday Youth Group. Watch for members who seem shy, or seem to be acting out. Provide them with personal attention, and help them join in with the activities of the group.

 

If there is a serious problem such as a medical issue or an emotional crisis, make sure the Coordinator is made aware of it, and that the Youth member's parents are contacted as soon as possible.

 

Arrive by 7 pm for Mass, and stay to help with clean-up after the meeting is over. Attendance at regularly scheduled planning meetings is expected.

 

Hospitality (at least 2 people)

 

At Mass - Greet the participants in a friendly way when they arrive for Mass, beginning around 6:30 pm. Have the list of those serving at Mass, and assist those members, making sure they have everything they need, and making sure they are where they need to be at the proper times.

 

During the Meeting - Guide the participants downstairs to our meeting area, and welcome them to the meeting. Greet them by name, and mention that you are glad to see them. Make sure everyone has their name tag. Get everyone going on the first activity, typically an ice-breaker.

 

Snack - The pizza is ordered ahead of time, and the juice is purchased ahead of time, and stored in the bar fridge under the counter in the Parish Hall. Jugs of water are prepared during the day and placed in the main fridge in the kitchen. The snack table is also set up ahead of time, with napkins, plates, and cups (at least 30 of each). Get the water jugs out and put them on the snack table during the meeting so that the Youth have access to water during the meeting.  When the pizza arrives, get the juice out of the fridge and set everything up so that it’s easy for the Youth to get their snack and drink. Encourage the Youth to clean up after themselves, and provide them with any cleaning supplies they may need (found in the caretaker’s closet in the main hallway).

 

Prayer Time - Go ahead of the group and make sure the lights are turned on in the Church and in the Narthex. Guide Youth members into the Church and direct them to the front pews near the Tabernacle.
